Exhibition of C19 Printing

As part of building our online edition of Clemence Housman's The Were-Wolf, the LM8910 class in Digital Publishing took a field trip to a nineteenth-century print shop housed in McKenzie House, just down the road from Ryerson University on Bond Street. Here we worked with moveable type, compositors' sticks, engraved woodblock images, and printing formes, in order to "reverse engineer" our digital edition by learning about the physical book's manufacture in 1896.
