The undated photograph shows a head-and-torso view of Clemence Housman facing frontally. The image is signed but undated. Clemence is white haired, but looks vigorous; the photograph may show her in her sixties (?). She is wearing a dark, long-sleeved dress with a V-shaped neckline fastened with a circular brooch fashioned with flowers and leaves; she is also wearing a string of dark-coloured beads around her throat, choker-length. She is resting her head on her left hand and looking directly at the camera.
